Welcome to WinMHT

WinMHT is a powerful, fully featured program that lets you create, modify and browse Web archives (.MHT files).

MHT files are a great way to store and archive complete Web pages since they can contain collections of one or more Web pages, along with their associated images, sounds, scripts and other resources all in the one convenient file.

MHT files can be browsed offline using your preferred Web browser. Both Internet Explorer and Netscape provide native support for MHT files. Links between Web pages that are stored within the MHT file are followed as if you are browsing a site online.

Getting Started

You've found one or more Web page(s) you wish to save... Ok lets get started:

  1. Browse the Web page within WinMHT.
  2. Select a folder where you would like your MHT file to be created.
  3. Select File | New Web Archive (F2) from the main menu.
  4. Rename the new mht file if you wish.
  5. Select File | Add Current Page (F7) from the main menu.

The Web page and all its resources will be saved to the selected Web archive (MHT) file.
The newly created Web archive can now be browsed offline, copied to CD-R, moved to another folder or PC, or sent to a friend via email.

WinMHT Highlights

Easily save complete Web pages to your computer. WinMHT can save collections of complete Web pages to your hard drive for future offline browsing.

Organize stored content. Collections of Web pages are saved within Web Archive files (.mht files) and these archives can be further organized within topic folders and sub-folders to help you find the information you want in the future.

Portability - Web archive files (.mht) are portable. No special software or reader is required. They can be browsed natively in Internet Explorer or Netscape and thus are a great way to share collections of Web pages gathered from disparate sources with friends and colleagues.

Remove live content - allows you to remove any content that would normally force Internet Explorer to try to connect to the Internet when you are trying to browse your saved content offline.
